Causeway Supports Award for Positive Young People

Causeway Technologies support YOPEY Awards to focus on the positive aspects of youth culture.

Causeway Technologies are becoming the Platinum Sponsor of the Buckinghamshire Young People of the Year (YOPEY) Awards to focus on building awareness of the massive contribution young people make to today’s society.

Whenever media attention appears about young people, whether 10 or 25 years of age, it invariably seems to focus on the negative stories but the youth of today should be praised for their commitment to building a better future for themselves and their peers through hard work, thoughtfulness and good ideas.  Causeway is supporting YOPEY in Buckinghamshire to recognize the value of these young people.

Philip Brown, Causeway CEO, states “When I was first approached by YOPEY founder, Tony Gearing, I was caught up by his enthusiasm and positive approach towards young people in this county.  I believe that young people contribute immensely to our society but this is overshadowed by the adverse press coverage of the minority who sadly commit crimes, rather than taking an active and positive role in society.  I have been enlightened by YOPEY’s stories of heroism, sheer hard work and commitment from young people and feel that the YOPEY awards play an important role in ensuring that these people are recognised throughout the country.  We’re all inspired by those self sacrificing young people working on building projects overseas, but we also want to recognize the invisible youth, such as those who are caring for disabled relations, day in day out, who do not receive the attention they deserve.  We will be supporting the awards and acting as local champions in local schools and youth organisations though our most important asset, our people.  We look forward to supporting Tony and his team at YOPEY over the coming months to create awareness of YOPEY, which will culminate with an awards ceremony at Pinewood Studios to celebrate the extraordinary young people of Buckinghamshire.”
