London Wasps Academy and Academy Apprenticeship partner with Causeway Technologies
Causeway is delighted to be the main sponsor of the London Wasps Academy and Academy Apprenticeship for the forthcoming season. The Academy Apprenticeship plays an important role, not only in the future of the club, but within the wider local community of which we are a part; Causeway’s headquarters being located not far from Adams Park. We have always taken an active interest in Wasps’ success and are proud to be able to contribute in some way to continuing that success.
As for our part, we see our role as more than simply a passive provider of funding. We have sought to be actively involved in supporting the club’s talented young players, recognising how we can help them develop personal skills beyond the rugby pitch. We work with the Apprentices on interviewing techniques and CV development, for example, to help them prepare for their future. Not every young player will choose a career in rugby, and even for those that do, it always pays to be thinking about life after the boots are hung up - even if you play for as long as Lawrence Dallaglio!
The Wasps’ Academy and Apprenticeship programmes instil the values of learning, respect, discipline and hard work. In particular, the combination of education and training gives every Wasps Apprentice a discipline and focus that will stand them in good stead for their entire lives. Together with the club, Causeway will continue to take an interest in the well-being and development of all the young players long after they move on from the Academy and Apprenticeship programmes and we look forward to supporting them en route to a highly successful future.
A few words about who we are. Causeway was established in 1999 as a supplier of software solutions to the construction and associated industries. Today, we operate globally with offices in the UK, Ireland, India and the Middle East, employing over 200 staff and supporting more than 1500 customers. Causeway has grown organically and through acquisition to become the market leader in our sectors.
Our software solutions have been employed on many high profile capital and term maintenance projects in construction, including Heathrow Terminal 5, the Channel Tunnel Rail Link, M6 Toll Road and the $18bn Al Raha Beach project in Abu Dhabi. Our customers include companies such as Aggregate Industries, Arup, Amey, Atkins, Carillion, Cemex, Inspace Partnerships, Kier, Scottish and Southern Energy, Sir Robert McAlpine, Speedy Hire plus hundreds of smaller regional and specialist construction industry related businesses.
Trying to make a connection between our commercial business and our work with Wasps Academy may seem a bit tenuous but in reality it is founded on the same principles. As “The Construction Software People” we see ourselves as enablers, helping others to maximise their potential. Whether that ‘other’ is a major construction company or an aspiring rugby player, we are equally dedicated and take immense pride in the level of service we are able to provide.
