Causeway’s Building Register has entered into a partnership with Contractors Health & Safety Assessment Scheme (CHAS) with the aim of raising the awareness of and compliance with modern Health and Safety Standards within the construction industry.

CHAS have become established as the leading industry body carrying out independent assessments of company health and safety policies and procedures. Achieving CHAS certification is recognised throughout the industry as a key indicator that a contractor takes health and safety seriously and has implemented policies, procedures and training to ensure that their work force operate in a safety-conscious environment.

The Building Register manages the industry's largest database of subcontractors and suppliers. The database is accessed via the web site buildingregister.com and is a FREE service that allows clients, local authorities and main contractors to find the subcontractors and suppliers they need to tender for work. The Building Register Enquiry Alert Service allows users to pick vendors from the site and email to them project and package enquiries for them to respond to. To save time and money users are keen to only select vendors for pre-qualification that they know are compliant with CDM regulations.

For many years the Register has provided users with detailed information on vendors, allowing contractors to make informed decisions. The Building Register 'Green Light' has become the de facto standard, assisting the selection of compliant and low-risk vendors. The new partnership with CHAS represents a significant enhancement to the service, adding the security of independent assessment.
