Day 1: 12 Feb – 117 Km

A really tough start to the challenge. Once the team has negotiated the capital, 117km and several inclines take them to the beautiful Lake Bolsena for the night.
Day 2: 13 Feb – 167 Km

Another really tough day will begin at Bolsena and finish in SanGimignano. 167km is a huge distance but will be made easier by the beauty of Tuscany and 3 of Italy’s finest vineyards, Orvieto, Montepulciano and Chianti.
Day 3: 14 Feb – 0 Km

A well earned rest day whilst England take on Italy back in Rome.
Day 4: 15 Feb – 135 Km

Leaving San Gimignano for the coast today. Luckily today’s 135km is mostly flat apart from a tough climb around Lucca, approximately half way to the destination of La Spezia.
Day 5: 16 Feb – 139 Km

´King of the Mountains´ day today! A REALLY tough start is rewarded with a relatively flat afternoon’s cycle past Genova to Arenzano. Total distance is 139km.
Day 6: 17 Feb – 121 Km

Flat, flat, flat all the way today and an awful lot of coastline. The journey from Voltri covers 121km to San Remo, where a bus is waiting to take the team 100km or so over the border to Mandelieu for start of Stage 2
