CBRE Managed Services - What is Tradex?

Tradex is an electronic trading document exchange, operated by Causeway Technologies, that facilitates the transfer of transactions, such as invoices, purchase orders and delivery notes between the different back office applications used by buyers and suppliers, cutting out the exchange of paper. Options exist to allow companies of all sizes to use Tradex to connect with CBRE GWS UK and Ireland, initially for paperless invoicing.

What are the benefits from connecting through Tradex?

Tradex provides secure and predictable invoice delivery. Your invoices are received in a format that will quickly be imported and processed, resulting in fewer errors and delays in processing your invoices for payment. Tradex is an e–trading connection that is used by organisations throughout the industry which means that your connection will also give you the ability to also exchange paperless invoicing with many other customers.

Is Tradex important to CBRE GWS UK and Ireland?

Yes - Your ability to exchange electronic invoices through Tradex is a key part of CBRE GWS UK and Ireland strategy for improving supply chain operations and ensuring ‘Perfect Delivery’ to our customers by ensuring we deliver a value added service in the most cost effective manner.

Do I have to do this to be a CBRE GWS UK and Ireland supplier?

No, it’s CBRE preferred method for receiving invoices from their suppliers to improve efficiency, sustainability and supplier integration, this will also reduce your own cost of invoicing and increase the efficiency of your credit controllers.

I only send a few invoices; will I still benefit from using Tradex?

Yes - Tradex provides an online connection option for suppliers who cannot justify a connection from their accounts application. This is free to use to submit your invoices. If you send a larger number of invoices, whether to CBRE GWS UK and Ireland or to other customers accessible through Tradex, we recommend you discuss connection options with the Tradex team.

Are there charges for doing this?

As mentioned above, there are a number of connection options available to you. If you are a low volume user, there is an option that is free to use where you key in your invoices online (Tradex Portal). If you send a sufficient volume of documents (to CBRE GWS UK and Ireland and others accessible through Tradex), then you can establish a connection that exports invoices from your back office and uploads them automatically into Tradex. This involves a set up and annual charge which the Tradex team can discuss with you based on your specific requirements.

I can't produce electronic invoices?

In this case, Tradex Portal would be your best option, though we would encourage you to discuss your situation with Causeway as they may be able to help you establish a connection. Will this work for my other customers and suppliers as well?

Yes - Your Tradex connection will provide you with the ability to exchange electronic trading documents with many other companies as well.
