Interdisciplinary property and construction consultancy McBains Cooper has selected Causeway’s CATO Cost & Programme Management software solution to assist with both pre-project cost planning and the management of change as the project proceeds.

As a technical advisory specialist, McBains Cooper adopts an interdisciplinary approach to all of its work, putting a strong emphasis on collaboration and effective communications throughout the team. This is combined with a ‘Way of Working’ that involves clearly defined processes and procedures with the four core values of honesty, trust, respect and mutual support at their heart.

In implementing CATO, the company is able to take advantage of both the cost planning and cost management functionality within the suite. The Cost Planning module gives users a high level of control in developing project costs, with an integrated cost modelling facility to support accurate cost advice.

Once construction has begun the CATO Programme Management module allows packages of work to be managed in the post-contract phase, tracking adjustments that will impact on the budget, from client changes to package transfers and variations.
