Leading building materials supplier Cemex has been working closely with Causeway to develop a special document format that will increase visibility of delivery information and improve communications for customers. The new documents are exchanged through Causeway’s Tradex eTrading hub, making full use of Cemex’s established Tradex connections.

Cemex is a global building solutions company, supplying cement, ready-mixed concrete and aggregates to the construction industry. In the UK the company also provides asphalt, flooring solutions, concrete block and railway sleepers. Consequently the company manages high volumes of deliveries, using a network of hauliers to ensure that materials arrive on site in a timely fashion. In support of this process, Causeway has created a bespoke document that streamlines the issue of delivery orders to hauliers while also sending confirmation of delivery times to customers.

The result is a fully joined-up delivery process that improves visibility of the materials despatch process for all parties. Cemex has been using Causeway Tradex for some years for the processing of orders, order acknowledgements, invoices and credit notes. This latest functionality broadens the scope of the Tradex hub, reduces paperwork for Cemex and improves customer service. It is now being made available to other Tradex members.
