Highways maintenance contractor EnterpriseMouchel (EM) has selected a range of Causeway software solutions to deliver the required flexibility to meet clients’ changing requirements. The new software system – encompassing financial management, project management, document management and eTrading - will enable EM to streamline everyday processes and boost efficiency in key areas of the business.

EM is a fully incorporated company jointly owned by Enterprise and Mouchel. It carries out highways maintenance for Local Authorities, the Highways Agency and Transport for London. The company’s portfolio includes the recent award of a LoHAC (London Highways Alliance Contract) by Transport for London for the South region, as well as MAC (Managing Agent Contractors) Areas 1, 3 and 13 for the Highways Agency and contracts with the boroughs of Enfield, Hillingdon and Croydon.

The package of Causeway solutions includes Causeway Financial Accounting (CFA), Causeway Project Accounting (CPA), Enterprise Content Management (ECM) and Tradex. While CFA will be used for managing the company’s finances, CPA will provide cost, value and performance data to be managed for specific projects or across all of EM’s projects. It will also be used for generating highways works orders, scheduling them and sending notifications to clients to aid compliance with the Traffic Management Act and distributing the works orders to operatives using mobile devices.

In parallel, Causeway ECM will play a central role in managing drawings and other documents, as well as providing drag-and-drop functionality to create workflows that will optimise the business processes. These workflows will then be distributed to other systems. Further business efficiencies will be introduced through Causeway Tradex, the eTrading solution that will enable suppliers’ invoices to be submitted electronically. Causeway’s Professional Services team has been working closely with EM to identify the best solutions and to ensure that implementation is completed quickly to facilitate the management of new contracts.
