Leading consulting and engineering company Grontmij has invested in Causeway’s BIM-compliant Line and Sign software modules to support a project where the ability to work with Building Information Modelling (BIM) data was a requirement.

Grontmij provides consultancy, design & engineering and management services in a broad range of market sectors related to the built and natural environment. The company works in all sectors, ranging from infrastructure through to urban development, energy and water.

The company had been using another civil engineering design package for some time but when awarded a project requiring BIM compatibility found it was necessary to look further afield. In Line and Sign, markings and sign sitings can be incorporated into BIM models, and their intelligence can be exported to BIM collaboration tools.

Having trialled both Line and Sign modules for a month, Grontmij has now invested in several licences

Line and Sign are CAD-independent, easy to use software modules within Causeway’s Professional Design Suite (PDS). Unlike most civil engineering design products on the market, they are BIM-compliant, enabling civil engineers to take advantage of the benefits of Building Information Modelling.

Key benefits:

  • BIM compliant
  • CAD independent
  • Minimal training required
  • Dynamic updating
  • Design and calculations in one package
