Leeds-based specialist construction consultancy Richard Boothroyd & Associates (RBA) has selected software modules from Causeway’s CATO Cost & Programme Management solution, following a review of the products available on the market. These include BIM Measure for automated measurement from Building Information Models, Cost Planning and Take Off and Bills for production of Bills of Quantity.

RBA focuses on quantity surveying, cost control and project management and attributes its success to a fresh, resourceful outlook on the construction and property market. In support of this approach the company recent reviewed its processes and identified areas where the right software solutions would add value for themselves and their customers.

The CATO modules provide a high level of integration between key areas of operation, saving time and increasing productivity by minimising the re-keying of data. Using the BIM Measure automated measurement tool, RBA is able to quickly take measurements from BIM models and incorporate them into cost planning processes, aided by the CATO Cost Planning module. BIM measurements, as well as those from CAD, can also be integrated with the Take Off and Bills module for producing Bills of Quantity. This module also supports the use of traditional DimSheets to suit all preferred working methods.
