In the current October edition of The Big Project, the Middle East’s leading monthly B2B title for the construction industry speaks to the pioneers of BIM, who reveal the innovations that will help modernise the industry.

Amongst those experts are Causeway’s business development manager, Phil Auguste, and COO of Causeway Middle East, Paul Madeira. They both feel the lack of automation across construction is more of an industry issue than it is a cultural one: “Automation is part of a process,” Paul told The Big Project: “If you look at the way aviation is developing, EGate works with no interaction and the hospitals here are far more advanced than any I have seen in Europe. In certain industries, technology is leading the way. Phil agreed: “Electronic trading, digital signatures, automated document managements; it’s not utilised. Over here it’s six signatures and a stamp and paper is good.” With Jordon’s agreement to establish a national buildingSMART forum, the time is right to revolutionise the industry and cut out the needless waste, whilst improving efficiency all the while.
