All Causeway training is conducted online and developed by our trainers with years of experience of the Causeway software. Our E-Training enables customers to meet their ongoing CPD requirements, with the additional benefit of being accessible and convenient.

  • Fundamental Drainage Design

    This one-day course is designed to introduce the core requirements of drainage design and enable trainees to produce a complete drainage network using Causeway Flow. This course will provide all necessary knowledge on the design, scheduling and analysis of a drainage network prepared for approval using the Flow software.

    Prerequisites: Flow v10.1 installed

    Audience: This course is for new users of Causeway Flow. Drainage Design Engineers from engineering consultancies, civil engineering firms, housing developers, highway engineers and approving authorities involved in the UK drainage design market will gain a basic knowledge of drainage design and achieve a working knowledge of the Flow drainage design software.

  • Advanced Drainage Design

    This one-day course will take place over a 2-hour session in the morning and afternoon. It provides all the essential expertise required to achieve an optimal and compliant drainage design.

    Prerequisites: A good applied knowledge of Flow is required or attendance of the Design Fundamental course. Flow v10.1 installed (including ‘Flow+’ and ‘Sketch’ modules)

  • Auditing Drainage Design Submissions

    Category: Flow

    This course provides all the essential expertise required to audit any drainage network or achieve a compliant drainage design. We will look at how to audit any drainage network for compliance with UK Specific requirements such as: DCG, local standards, SfA, the Interim Code of Practice for SuDS, the SuDS manual C753, Climate Change and Exceedance. The course will provide a good practical knowledge of both traditional drainage and a SuDS design approach whilst looking at how to evaluate the impact of new developments on existing catchments. As part of the audit we will explore pre-development runoff calculations, Storage estimation, SuDS feasibility assessment & outline design, hydraulic analysis against extreme events and a series of 17 automated tests ranging from manhole energy losses to discharge volume.

    Prerequisites:
    - No previous knowledge of Flow is required.
    - Correct version of software installed and tested - Flow & Sketch.
    - Supplied data files installed and supplied notes printed.

    Audience: This course is designed for Approving Authorities in the UK who want to effectively deploy Causeway Flow to carry out checking and auditing for compliance of both traditional drainage and SuDS networks submissions.

  • Drainage Engineering For Beginners

    This training course is designed for anyone new to storm or foul water drainage design and analysis in the UK. It is also enormously useful for engineers who wish to update their knowledge, further their understanding of the most up-to-date industry best practices and evade common pitfalls.   • Introduction to Estimating

    This two-day course is designed to provide basic training to enable productive use of Causeway Estimating. The course covers the basic understanding of computerised estimating together with an outline of the various data required to assist in the estimating process. Users will also learn how to build up estimates from first principles, using labour, plant, materials etc and will learn how to incorporate subcontractor and supplier rates. By the end of this course you will be able to produce estimates using Causeway Estimating and will be able to manage the costs to maximise your profit.

    Prerequisites: You should have estimating experience and a basic understanding of computers but not necessarily any experience of computerised estimating systems.

    Audience: Estimators, Surveyors, Commercial Managers plus clerical staff who assist in the preparation of Estimates.

  • Line & Sign

    This one day course is designed to give you maximum return on your investment in PDS Line & PDS Sign by minimising the learning period for new users, providing an insight into the fundamental design rules in Chapter 5 and 7 of the Traffic Signs Manual, and showing experienced traffic engineers how to maximise their output using the software.

    Prerequisites: Attendees should have a reasonable working knowledge of AutoCAD. Some familiarity with the Traffic Signs manual would also be useful. Line and Sign v12.0 installed.

    Audience: This course is for new users who are looking for grounding in the latest version of PDS Line & PDS Sign. Design Engineers and technicians working in Civil Engineering, Highways and Traffic departments together with anyone else involved in Road Marking and Sign Face design should attend.

  • Cost Planning

    Category: CATO

    Dates: 24 June, 22 July, 26 August, 30 September

    This one-day course is designed to provide a comprehensive introduction to CATO Cost Planning, including core functionality in the Project Executive. The module can be used to create cost plans using information from Industry standard or bespoke Elemental Libraries or from previous jobs, in part or whole, thereby saving valuable time. Items can also be linked to external Excel spreadsheets. Costs can be estimated in summary format initially and later built up from first principles if required. Users are able to track any changes that occur in the estimate and compare revisions of cost plans side-by-side. The Causeway Cost Planning report writer can be used to generate a range of fully editable report types from comparison reports to audit trail reports and also be used to export to PDF and Excel. From a zero-knowledge starting point, the course objective is to provide a clear understanding of the software and its powerful functions. The training will also include the link to Causeway’s CAD measurement program ‘BIMMeasure’

  • Take Off & Bills

  • Donseed – Advanced Introduction to Workplace

    The advanced training session will be delivered in conjunction with the core training session and will have a more in depth look at certain modules as well as focussing on how to add process to your organisation whilst using Workplace.

    This two-day course is split into two distinct sessions. The first session focuses on the portal and will introduce trainees to the Causeway Donseed Workplace platform. By the end of this session, trainees will have knowledge of working within the portal, including how to create projects, run timesheet log reports, set-up working shift patterns and perform payroll management.

    It will cover advanced elements such as introducing workflows, adjudicating time logs, extra payments and absences, advanced reporting, and permission levels.

    The second session provides trainees with a hands-on overview of a Causeway Donseed device (either tablet, clock face or app). By the end of this session trainees will have knowledge of how to sign-in/out, enrol new operatives and run roll calls.

    Audience: This course is aimed at new users to the Causeway Donseed Workplace platform. Candidates for the portal session should include the System Administrator, members of the payroll team and HR Managers, Quantity Surveyors and Contracts Managers.
