  • Drainage Engineering For Beginners

  • Auditing Drainage Design Submissions

    This course provides all the essential expertise required to audit any drainage network or achieve a compliant drainage design. We will look at how to audit any drainage network for compliance with UK Specific requirements such as: DCG, local standards, SfA, the Interim Code of Practice for SuDS, the SuDS manual C753, Climate Change and Exceedance. The course will provide a good practical knowledge of both traditional drainage and a SuDS design approach whilst looking at how to evaluate the impact of new developments on existing catchments. As part of the audit we will explore pre-development runoff calculations, Storage estimation, SuDS feasibility assessment & outline design, hydraulic analysis against extreme events and a series of 17 automated tests ranging from manhole energy losses to discharge volume.

    - No previous knowledge of Flow is required.
    - The latest version of Causeway Flow installed and tested.

    Audience: This course is designed for Approving Authorities in the UK who want to effectively deploy Causeway Flow to carry out checking and auditing for compliance of both traditional drainage and SuDS networks submissions.

  • Cost Planning

    This one-day course is designed to provide a comprehensive introduction to CATO Cost Planning, including core functionality in the Project Executive. The module can be used to create cost plans using information from Industry standard or bespoke Elemental Libraries or from previous jobs, in part or whole, thereby saving valuable time. Items can also be linked to external Excel spreadsheets. Costs can be estimated in summary format initially and later built up from first principles if required. Users are able to track any changes that occur in the estimate and compare revisions of cost plans side-by-side. The Causeway Cost Planning report writer can be used to generate a range of fully editable report types from comparison reports to audit trail reports and also be used to export to PDF and Excel. From a zero-knowledge starting point, the course objective is to provide a clear understanding of the software and its powerful functions. The training will also include the link to Causeway’s CAD measurement program ‘BIMMeasure’

    The advanced training session will be delivered in conjunction with the core training session and will have a more in depth look at certain modules as well as focussing on how to add process to your organisation whilst using Workplace.

    This two-day course is split into two distinct sessions. The first session focuses on the portal and will introduce trainees to the Causeway Donseed Workplace platform. By the end of this session, trainees will have knowledge of working within the portal, including how to create projects, run timesheet log reports, set-up working shift patterns and perform payroll management.

    It will cover advanced elements such as introducing workflows, adjudicating time logs, extra payments and absences, advanced reporting, and permission levels.

    The second session provides trainees with a hands-on overview of a Causeway Donseed device (either tablet, clock face or app). By the end of this session trainees will have knowledge of how to sign-in/out, enrol new operatives and run roll calls.
