VolkerHighways has begun implementing Causeway Maintenance Management to support its growth in the UK highways maintenance sector.
The multidisciplinary contractor delivers innovative engineering solutions across the civil engineering and construction sectors. This includes highway maintenance, streetlighting, surfacing, traffic management, telecoms and smart technology.
Although VolkerHighways is already working with local authorities on highways maintenance projects, the company plans to win more significant contracts that require sophisticated digital solutions.
Boosting visibility with Causeway Maintenance Management
The integrated cloud-based platform will deliver digital transformation of the mobile workforce and all operational processes for VolkerHighways, who are now using Causeway Maintenance Management across the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead.
Since implementation in late 2022, 620 photographs have already been taken and 489 mobile forms completed. Photographs are captured ad-hoc or at specific times within the job workflow and the forms can be digitised to increase efficiency and ensure compliance.
Although VolkerHighways have only just gone through the first commercial month using the software, the business has already seen significant results; with more than 400 work order defects were received using the interface (within the first 3 weeks) and 243 defects processed.
Using Windsor as a template for further implementation, the solution will go live in the following areas during early 2023: West Berkshire, Wokingham, Luton, Bath, and Northeast Somerset, as well as various lighting contracts.

- Integration into ERP and finance. Causeway Maintenance Management integrates into ERP and finance systems, handling operational and commercial management in high-risk maintenance jobs.
