Causeway emission targets approved by Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi)

The SBTi has approved Causeway Technologies near-term science-based emissions reduction target, confirming alignment with international standards for climate action.

Causeway had committed to reduce:

• Absolute scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions 50.4% by 2032 from a 2024 base year
• Scope 3 GHG emissions 58.14% per GBP value added within the same timeframe

The Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) is a collaboration between CDP, the United Nations Global Compact, World Resources Institute (WRI) and the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF).

The SBTi defines and promotes best practice in science-based target setting and independently assesses companies’ targets.

Causeway CEO Paul Devlin said: “Construction plays a huge role in shaping the world around us, and it carries one of the biggest environmental responsibilities. The construction sector has a vital role to play in tackling the climate crisis. According to the latest science, limiting global warming to 1.5°C will require deep, rapid emissions cuts across every industry. SBTi validation represents a clear step in aligning with that goal and supporting the shift to more sustainable ways of working across the built environment.
