Software from Yotta is helping to target and prioritise twenty-five million pounds of spending to improve the pavements and roads in the London Borough of Haringey. The highway asset management platform Horizons is being used to model different scenarios and present the long term effects of alternative maintenance programmes for the North London Council. Haringey selected Horizons following a rigorous evaluation process which included consultation with existing users of Horizons in London and beyond.

The Transportation and Highways Team will use Horizons to determine the most effective way to invest in carriageway and footway maintenance schemes in Haringey. Using Horizons members of the team can model the effect and outcome of different types of treatments presenting alternative scenarios based on investment levels, timings and the condition and local characteristics of each and every part of the road network, for example.

“It was essential that we ensured any money spent was spent well; realising tangible, long term improvements in the highway network,” commented Peter Boddy, Group Manager for Transport Policy and Projects at Haringey Council. “Using Horizons we can evaluate and consider all options and select the best possible course of action based on robust evidence.”

“Horizons also allows us to present different scenarios to elected officials so we can demonstrate the long term effects of alternative maintenance programmes across the entire road network.”

Horizons is a highway Software-as-a-Service (“SaaS”) asset management platform designed to make it easier for asset managers to visualise, manage and optimise all their asset management strategies in a unique and effective way using a single cloud-based solution. Since launching to market in 2012 Horizons has experienced significant growth in sales in the UK and with customers including the Highways England, the London Borough of Richmond, Bracknell Forest Council as well as East Sussex, Nottinghamshire and Lancashire County Councils, to name just a few.

Yotta will be exhibiting at the APSE Roads, Street Lighting and Winter Maintenance Seminar in Durham on the 5th-6th March 2015. Meet the team on Stand 20, where they will be showcasing the Horizons and Mayrise asset management suite;
