Specialist contractor, EAC Group of Companies Ltd, joins building contractor SJ Roberts Construction and Oliver & Brown Civil Engineering in purchasing Causeway Estimating licences to save time and reduce risk in estimating, adjudication and Takeoff processes.
Specialising in suspended ceiling, dry lining, hygienic wall cladding and partitioning, EAC Group of Companies Ltd required a specialist estimating software package to support its growth. Specifically, the business was looking to tender for larger commercial projects and as a result, needed a system that would allow them to tender for more jobs and spend more time on their adjudication process.
Through the purchase of the Causeway Estimating Professional Bundle, EAC Group is able to save a significant amount of time and resource which would have otherwise been committed to manually re-entering Takeoff quantities into Excel. This is now automated with CADMeasure. Switching from Excel to a specialist estimating solution also enables the company to make seamless wholesale changes to estimates; a process that was unnecessarily difficult through the use of spreadsheets alone.
Similarly, building contractors SJ Roberts Construction was looking to compete for larger and more competitive jobs, and also switched from Excel in favour of Causeway’s specialist estimating software to become more efficient in its estimating processes.
However, time and efficiency are not the only drivers for adopting a specialist solution. Looking to reduce the risk of costly errors that can often come with the use of spreadsheets, groundworks and civils contractor Oliver & Brown Civil Engineering decided to move away from Excel in order to analyse tenders in greater detail. This has allowed them to improve the accuracy of their tenders and mitigate the risk of losing jobs or losing money on jobs won.
