Our impact
At Causeway, we believe progress should be shared. Real impact happens when our success creates value for others, for our customers, our communities and the people who shape the world around us.
Our impact is built around three connected pillars: People, Planet and Innovation. Together they show how we are improving wellbeing, equality and opportunity, reducing environmental impact, and driving meaningful change through technology and data.
From supporting mental health and digital education to improving equality and inclusion, each pillar turns purpose into action and ambition into measurable progress. This is how we are building better together.
Discover the three pillars helping us drive meaningful change
Empowering our workforce and our industry
Building a sustainable industry begins with people. At Causeway, we are creating a culture that values every voice and gives people the opportunity to grow. Through wellbeing, inclusion and learning, we are helping our teams build the skills and confidence to lead the change our industry needs.
We apply the same principles beyond our own business. A sustainable construction industry must also be an inclusive one, where everyone has the opportunity to contribute and succeed. Our partnerships and social value programmes extend this commitment to the wider community, improving wellbeing, education and opportunity for people across the industry and beyond.
Royal Institution partnership (2025–2029)
A £1 million, five-year partnership expanding access to digital education and computer science for young people in lower-served communities. Together, we are inspiring the next generation of innovators and problem-solvers through more than 500 Computer Science Masterclasses each year, reaching thousands of students across schools, community groups and charities.
Mindflow charity
Improving mental health and wellbeing across the construction supply chain through the Mindflow Charter and Match-Ups programme, supporting a happier, healthier and more resilient workforce. By 2027, Mindflow aims to reach 100,000 workers through training, mentoring and resources that promote positive mental health.
Women in Tech (WiT) programme
We are strengthening representation across our teams and supporting employee networks such as Women in Tech, alongside mentoring and allyship programmes that build confidence and capability. The group also works with partners across the wider technology industry to share learning, increase visibility and open up more opportunities for women in tech roles.
Employee wellbeing and engagement
Our internal wellbeing network includes mental health first aiders, flexible working and structured learning pathways that help every employee grow personally and professionally.
Social value policy in action
Our Social Value Policy formalises how Causeway contributes to local procurement, digital skills development and matched employee fundraising, ensuring that our growth creates value for the communities around us.
Planet
Reducing carbon, waste, and resource impact
Protecting the planet is a shared journey, and ours begins with science-based targets and extends across our entire value chain. We are focused on reducing our environmental footprint through clear, measurable actions that cut carbon, minimise waste and improve the way we use resources.
Decarbonisation
SBTi-validated targets to cut Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 50.4% and Scope 3 emissions by 58.14% per GBP value added by 2032.
Renewable energy transition by 2026
Moving all offices to renewable electricity, working with landlords and suppliers.
Zero waste
Circular-economy programme to eliminate waste to landfill by 2027.
Sustainable procurement
Supplier engagement through ESG questionnaires and integration of carbon data in sourcing decisions.
SBTi Methodology
Reporting aligned to the GHG Protocol and SBTi Near-Term Criteria (V5.2).
How we measure progress
Causeway’s environmental data is independently verified to ensure accuracy and consistency. CausewayOne Carbon enables customers to achieve similar levels of confidence in their own Scope 3 reporting — linking invoice data from CausewayOne e-Invoicing (formerly Tradex) to emissions factors for materials and services.
Causeway applies the same rigour to its own reporting that it expects across the industry. Our carbon data is independently verified to maintain full objectivity which ensures CausewayOne Carbon remains a trusted solution for our customers, built on transparency and independent verification rather than internal validation.
