In achieving BIM Level 2 accreditation for its construction division, Mace Group has selected Causeway’s BIMMeasure automated measurement solution for measuring quantities from Building Information Models (BIMs). BIMMeasure was selected following extensive appraisal of other products on the market. It will form part of an integrated BIM-compatible solution that also includes Causeway Estimating and the CATO cost and programme management suite.
In achieving BIM Level 2 accreditation, Mace was subject to vigorous assessment across a wide range of criteria to ensure compliance with PAS 1192-2:2013, BS1192-4:2014 and BS 1192:2007. The company is now in a strong position to tender for centrally procured UK government projects.

By introducing BIMMeasure, and replacing its previous estimating system with Causeway Estimating, Mace will create a highly efficient and streamlined workflow for both BIM and traditional projects. For example, BIMMeasure allows much more automation of the Take-Off process and any subsequent revision of existing Measurements taken from an existing model with just a few clicks.
These can then be easily transferred by drag and drop to the Estimating software as multiple, individual quantities or grouped quantities.
Further integration with CATO enables information from the estimate to also be used for cost planning and management.
