Causeway has been selected by the London Borough of Brent to deliver a fully integrated Digital Traffic Regulation Order (D-TRO) solution, combining Causeway ParkMap and Causeway one.network, with data integration into the council’s existing Causeway Horizons platform to provide additional long-term value.
Brent, a long-standing Causeway Horizons customer of more than ten years, is taking a significant step forward in modernising its traffic order management. Historically reliant on outdated paper-based TROs, Brent faced challenges with accuracy, enforceability, and compliance. By moving to Causeway’s integrated solution, the authority will benefit from a comprehensive, future-proofed and fully D-TRO compliant service.
What has been delivered so far:
- Within weeks of mobilisation, Causeway consultants have led project initiation and survey workshops with Brent and survey partners Cyclomedia, establishing a shared understanding of project objectives and data insights.
- Work is underway to onboard Causeway ParkMap for permanent TROs (with LineMap and SignPlot) and Causeway one.network for temporary orders and streetworks coordination, ensuring both sides of the D-TRO requirement are covered within one integrated Causeway service.
Benefits for Brent:
-
A comprehensive Cyclomedia survey will capture and digitise all TRO assets, enabling Causeway to draft accurate, enforceable new orders and replace unreliable paper records.
-
Integration across Causeway ParkMap and Causeway one.network provides a continuous cycle – from survey capture, through order digitalisation, to compliance and public visibility – ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and transparency at every stage.
-
Extracting survey data insights from Causeway ParkMap into Causeway Horizons brings additional strategic benefits:
-
Moving from basic condition surveys to a full inventory of line and sign assets, including type, location and condition.
-
Enabling more accurate works programmes and investment models, targeted spend, and prioritisation.
-
Supporting investment analysis and forecasting, helping Brent evidence funding needs and plan long-term maintenance with confidence.
-
-
The combined solution improves enforcement accuracy, operational efficiency, and public transparency, while ensuring compliance with forthcoming Department for Transport requirements.
Looking ahead
Over the next 6–12 months, Causeway will continue to work closely with Brent to fully digitise its TROs, onboard staff into the new systems, and integrate the survey data into Causeway ParkMap. This will ensure Brent not only achieves D-TRO compliance, but also gains a continuous feedback loop across Causeway’s ecosystem, enhancing both TRO operational delivery and strategic asset management.
This win highlights Causeway’s unique ability to provide a truly end-to-end service, combining software, consultancy, and survey data into one seamless solution.
