The City of Tampa has adopted Causeway’s one.network platform (known as CausewayOne Network in the UK) to enhance the way it communicates road and lane closures, improving safety and reducing congestion across the city’s road network.
The move was recently featured on Fox News and Tampa Bay’s ABC affiliate, highlighting how one.network platform enables traffic teams to share real-time information and updates with the public more efficiently.
“It’s a software platform that helps us to get information to you faster and easier through all of the different mapping platforms that you’re already using on your cell phones,” explained Tampa’s Mobility Department in an interview with Tampa Bay 28.
Through Causeway one.network, Tampa’s traffic managers and work-zone crews can instantly update lane closures, incidents and planned works. These updates are then automatically pushed to major navigation apps including Google Maps, Apple Maps and Waze, ensuring road users receive timely and accurate information without the need for a new app.
This integration not only improves journey planning and public awareness, but also supports safer working environments for crews operating on the road. By digitising what was once a manual process, the city gains better visibility, coordination and data sharing across departments.
For the people of Tampa, this means more predictable, less stressful travel. Live updates help them avoid delays and make smarter route choices, while workers benefit from greater protection and awareness.
It also gives the city’s traffic teams a clearer view of what’s happening across the network. They can respond faster, coordinate more effectively, and reduce disruption - while helping road crews work in safer, more visible conditions.
It’s a meaningful step towards a more connected, better-managed road system for everyone who lives and works in Tampa.
The collaboration demonstrates how Causeway’s one.network platform is helping cities modernise their infrastructure operations - connecting people, systems and data to keep roads safer and traffic flowing.
