South Gloucestershire Council has awarded technology company, Yotta a major multi-year contract for the delivery implementation and support of its flagship connected asset management platform, Alloy. The council plans to use Alloy as a strategic asset management platform, delivering a wide range of infrastructure management and environmental services, including highways; street lighting; open spaces; street cleansing; drainage and waste collection. The decision to opt for Yotta’s Alloy is in line with the council’s current focus on digital transformation and digitising services in order to be more citizen and customer-centric, bringing benefits to residents, staff and the council itself.

South Gloucestershire was looking to drive efficiencies across its operations, streamline common transactions and deliver improved communication between the council and the public. It also wanted a system that would enable it to more efficiently collate and share data across the organisation and to better understand its residents and their needs. Yotta and its ground-breaking new Alloy software fitted the bill perfectly.

The council plans to implement the Alloy highways functionality first, then street lighting; open spaces; drainage and cleansing (with the latter two possibly running in parallel), concluding with waste collection.

Jonathan Munslow, asset and infrastructure group manager, South Gloucestershire Council said: “We look forward to working with Yotta on implementing a system that will make it easier for us to keep track of and schedule the work we do to maintain and improve roads, street lights, parks, streets, drainage and waste collection, improving the services we provide to local residents.” Steve White, business development manager, Yotta said: “We are delighted to have the opportunity to work with South Gloucestershire Council on this key strategic project. It is crucial to them to be able to deliver digital transformation to obtain that single view of the customer to better understand them and ensure they are kept fully updated and informed. It is also key that the council can deliver a single view of assets and services in order to deliver operational efficiencies across its activities. Alloy can help it meet both of these core objectives.”
