City Grey, a fast-growing groundworks and reinforced concrete (RC) frame contractor, has purchased the Causeway Donseed biometric labour management system. This will have a key role in improving the management of site operatives for an upcoming project.
City Grey is involved in a wide range of technically challenging projects in London as well as across the UK. In planning for its latest project, City Grey looked at how labour management could be streamlined for the approximately 20 operatives they would have on site.
Familiar with biometric systems from previous roles, the directors of City Grey approached Causeway to help find a solution to better manage time and attendance on site. Based on the technical guidance from Causeway, the specialist contractor has invested in the cloud- based Causeway Donseed with biometric fingerprint recognition capabilities.
Causeway Donseed utilises a simple and interactive touchscreen tablet that includes a certified optical fingerprint sensor. The robust tablet, designed for use on busy construction sites, enables users to quickly and easily verify their identity when signing in and out of the site. This ensures that accurate time and attendance records are maintained for the hours worked.
The fact that Causeway Donseed has been built specifically for construction businesses, was a key consideration for City Grey. It centralises all the required data and allows simple management of qualifications and training. This helps to ensure that everyone working on site has the necessary and current certifications by providing a clear picture of all information and alerts for upcoming expiries.
Capturing accurate payroll records and improving the efficiency of admin and labour management tasks will provide a significant return on investment, as well as enhance site safety and ensure compliance.
