Highlighting an ongoing growth and expansion drive both in the UK and across Europe, asset management company, Yotta has made a total of five new appointments to its sales and professional services teams. Auke Orsel joins the company from geospatial software provider, Spatial Eye as Europe partner sales manager, while Chris Dyer, Julian Collins, Tom Crawshaw and Emily See are all new recruits of Yotta’s rapidly growing professional services team.
Orsel who is based in the Netherlands and reports into Yotta’s director of marketing and international business, Simon Topp, is helping to drive the company’s cross-Europe partner recruitment drive, with an initial focus on Spain and Germany and the Nordics.
According to Topp, “we are delighted to welcome Auke to Yotta. He has many years’ experience in delivering geospatial software, spatial analytics and geographic information systems (GIS) and has built up far-reaching expertise and software specific skills in these areas, as well as in-depth experience dealing with national government agencies, all of which will prove invaluable in growing our partner base across Europe.”
Orsel is initially concentrating on building relationships with national and local government in those countries, with a view to defining potential future partners and going on to secure commercial relationships with those organisations. The strategic focus will be around building sales and implementation opportunities for Yotta’s highway asset management software for highways, Horizons.
In addition, Orsel is focusing on supporting Yotta’s Dutch distributor, Wegdekmeten, and growing the Yotta account in the Netherlands by helping to secure more sales of Horizons licences to government authorities across the country. He will also work on growing the accounts of other newly-recruited resellers and distributors across the continent as they come on stream.”
Further underlining Yotta’s rapid growth and ongoing momentum, the company has also brought in four new senior employees to its fast-growing professional services team in the UK. Chris Dyer, Julian Collins, Tom Crawshaw and Emily See all join the company from previous roles at East Sussex County Council. Chris Dyer is now heading up the professional services team at Yotta; Julian Collins joins as senior consultant and both Tom Crawshaw and Emily See as consultants in asset management.
“Asset management is a rapidly growing sector within highways agencies across the UK and has been for some time,” says Simon Phillips, UK commercial director, Yotta. “Yotta has been quick to capitalise on this and in recent years the revenue generated by our professional services team has been growing by at least 20 per cent year on year. We recognised the need to expand in terms of skill set and position ourselves to move into new areas of asset management in the future and these new appointments reflect that dynamic growth path.”
“All four of our new recruits have in-depth local authority experience, particularly from the service level delivery perspective,” adds Phillips. “They all have a practical understanding of what it means to implement long-term asset management plans and in light of the government’s new incentive fund to move up the bands from one to two to three.
“That will all be invaluable in engaging with local authorities and in helping them achieve the right level of banding and implement strategic asset management planning to meet the latest Department for Transport (DfT) requirements,” he adds. “But we also see Chris and his team being well placed to reach out beyond our existing client base and start creating new strategic relationships across the industry.”
