We caught up with the FunderMax team to discuss how Causeway SpecifiedBy fits with their specification-led marketing strategy.
FunderMax, which has a worldwide presence and employs over 1000 people, specialises in working with wood-based materials and compact laminates to create sustainable, design-led products — including furniture, facades and interior fittings.
They are the second largest laminate manufacturer in the world, the leading laminate manufacturer in Europe, and the clear number one manufacturer in their home country of Austria as well as Switzerland and Germany.
Despite that global success, the team is very focused on helping more architects and specifiers deliver their project visions here in the UK.
UK Sales Manager James Dawson explains:
“My role is to build the UK market share to a more appropriate size, a big focus over the next 12 months will be building our brand awareness within the UK”
Historically, within the UK, Sales and Marketing had been outsourced to an agency; however, as part of the overall strategy, this has now been taken in-house, headed up by James and the team.
A key part of this strategy is to align their efforts with the preferences and research processes of modern Architects and specifiers.
This is where Causeway SpecifiedBy comes in, providing a proven, digital platform that will allow them to engage architects and specifiers on their terms and create increased demand within the UK market.
James explained:
“We see SpecifiedBy as an opportunity to help Fundermax products be even more accessible — the specification market has moved away from the big library of samples approach and spending money hours researching products.
We’re seeing the influence of the ‘Google generation’, where Architects and Specifiers expect to be able to easily find products and instantly access all the information they need, including clear technical details.
SpecifiedBy provides the platform for our products to readily plug into specification projects, in a way that works for specifiers.”
